Many would-be FSBO sellers get nervous about the idea of selling without a real estate agent on his or her side. But there’s good news.

Research into agent represented and FSBO offerings shows that both generate similar prices once offers are made. The report states:

The academics compared Realtor-listed homes to for-sale-by-owner homes in Madison, Wis., and concluded that professional marketing and negotiating by a Realtor made no difference in a home’s sale price.

The report goes on to say that, although an MLS listing does not necessarily help a home to fetch a higher price, it does help a home to sell more quickly.

The good news then for FSBO sellers is that their home is likely to sell for the price that you’re asking. The great news is that IHS Realty makes it possible for FSBO sellers to also list their property in the MLS for a low flat fee.

Not only will you be able to get the price that you’re asking, but also you’ll be able to sell your home quickly - all without the high cost of working with a real estate agent.
