An Open House: Why You Should Hold One

Posted by Manager on March 7th, 2008

Why should you hold an open house when you sell your home with flat fee MLS? The primary reason is that having an open house is a chance to get as many prospective buyers through the front door in a specific time frame.

However, that’s not the only reason why holding an open house is important. When you hole an open house, you’ll find that your neighbors can get inside; chances are good that the people who live near you know others who want to move into the area - if they can see inside, you’ll find that it’s easier for them to feel good about referring people they know to see the house.

Similarly, when you have an open house sign directing people to your home, you’re likely to attract individuals who are just starting to think about buying a home who are trying to get a feel for what they are looking for. You never know, holding an open house just might mean that someone will come in, fall in love with the home and want to buy just because they were in the neighborhood.

In other words, holding an open house is a great way of attracting interest to your property - especially if you’ve made an effort to get the home ready and you’ve taken advantage of announcing the open house online within your flat fee MLS listing.

Holding an Open House is a great way to market your home - so is the MLS

Combining the power of the MLS marketing system with a dedicated and motivated seller is a sure fire way of getting your home sold.

Real estate agents either love or hate open houses, not least as the most popular day for them from a buyers point of view is Sunday - how many realtors work Sunday ?

If you are in control of your home sale, you can list your home, and open house dates on the MLS and combine the MLS marketing advantage with the personal touch of an open house.
